Rabbi Larry

(not Lev)

was on a lecture tour

(not a pilgrimage)

incognito

(no beard, no tallis, no payes)

in a coffee shop

(not a deli)

reading a book

like any other teacher.

Seeing the Talmud,

a stranger asked,

"Nu? So?

Are you ready to argue?"

They smiled.

They nodded,

like Solomon.

They argued,

like mishpuchah-family-

happily, hardily,

heatedly.

Two strangers.

Two Lanzmen.

Two Jews.

Parting with

more questions

than answers.

Two Jews
